Description
You can choose between Beginner classes and Intermediate classes.
The BEGINNER CLASSES are suitable for dancers with little or no Balboa dance experience and those wanting recap fundamental Balboa dance techniques. For the Beginner classes, no dance experience is required but you should note that Balboa is commonly dance in a close-embrace position, similar to Ballroom or Tango dancing.
For the INTERMEDIATE CLASSES, prior dance experience of Balboa is required and you should, at least, have attended two blocks of beginner classes or a weekend workshop.
A CLASS IS 45 MINUTES. In-between the Beginner and Intermediate classes, we have 30 minutes of joint practice time / social dancing. You do not need a dance partner to register for the classes. We generally rotate dance partners to help learn the techniques of following and leading.
You can BUY TICKETS FOR 3, 4 OR 5 CLASSES of a class block for either the dance role of Follower or Leader. Please feel free to choose your dance role according to your personal preference, regardless of gender.
You're entitled to buy classes at the CONCESSION RATE if you're on low income or have an Edinbop 2026 membership. You can buy an annual membership here on DanceCloud.

Free Balboa social dancing on the second Sunday of the month at Leith Depot from midday till 3pm
