Want to feel more comfortable and creative when dancing to faster music? This Charleston workshop is for you!
Being able to do chilled out Charleston is great for connection and you can really build on it with your own personality and style. In this workshop Ellen and Rob will take you in depth on Charleston technique and some of the classic moves, giving ideas for how you can be more playful at those mid-tempo speeds. Then you'll ramp up to the faster music and get you used to making decisions and responding to your partner when the music gets a bit wild!
This workshop is aimed at anyone who’s been doing Lindy for a while and wants to broaden their options for different tempos. It’s also suitable for regular social dancers who want to nerd out on the finer points of partner dancing and go hard on your learning!
With 28 years of dancing and 21 years of teaching experience between them, Ellen & Rob love sharing this dance with anyone who enjoys being on the floor. As regular social dancers in the Edinburgh scene - and choreographers who put a bit of Charleston into everything they can - they want to spread the love and appreciation as wide as they can.
The venue, Quaker Studio at the Pleasance, is fully wheelchair accessible (though across cobblestones). Toilets incl. accessible toilets are on the ground floor in the neighbouring buildings. If not out, chairs are available in the hall upon request.
Thanks to EUSDS for collaborating on this workshop with us!
