This two-day workshop with Shani Brown, from San Diego (USA), for 28 dancers of intermediate to advanced level is aimed at developing your dancing through a mix of intimate structured teaching and personalised feedback from an international expert instructor. The 4 classes with Shani are each 60 minutes long and will be followed by 30 to 45 minutes of practice time, supervised by her, offering 1:1 assistance, advice and encouragement.
The dance classes are complemented by a social dance of 4 hours on Saturday evening, with the fabulous DJs Gillian Scott (Washington, England) and more to be announced. Furthermore, on Saturday afternoon, Swing dancer and dance historian Lewis Orchard (Lewes, England) will present his latest research into the origins and history of Balboa.
Shani Brown has studied and taught Lindy Hop and Southern California Swing (Balboa, Bal-Swing and Lindy) for over 20 years. Her depth of knowledge is sought by both Lead and Follow dancers alike. She had extensive direct training with original dancers from Los Angeles and Orange counties and has a background in gymnastics instruction (body mechanics and kinaesthesia).
